We founded Dockside Data in the summer of 2023, because we felt the industry is ready for a change in the ways we do AI projects. Our experience as freelancers and employees has shown us that projects often fail because technical and economic aspects are considered separately. Too often, processes are placed above people, plans above initiative, technology above its benefits.

Felix is the CEO and Co-founder of Dockside Data. He lives together with his wife and dog in Hamburg, Germany. Felix specializes in generative AI, predictive analytics, data engineering, and cloud computing. His experience in building large-scale generative AI and predictive analytics platforms at companies like About You fuels his passion delivering substantive, industry-leading results. Felix is all about substance over fluff, except for when it comes to dogs. Trivia: During his student times, Felix was one of the first bike delivery people in Germany for a now famous food delivery company, and he speaks fluent Chinese.
Laurin is co-founder of Dockside Data and lives in Hamburg, Germany. After completing his M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with a focus on machine learning applications and mathematical optimization, Laurin gained experience as an employee and freelancer before starting his journey with Dockside Data. Notable positions include project manager at a major German credit agency and IT lead at Mercedes-Benz Mobility, where he developed the first ML-based customer risk assessment for flexible products. In his work, Laurin values down-to-earth software development, solid MLOps, and being part of great teams. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing guitar, and doing a little MMA for fun.
